The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a Chinese harvest festival. It falls on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, the night of the full moon, which corresponds to mid-September to early October on the Gregorian calendar. Chinese believe that this is the day when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, coinciding with the mid-autumn harvest season.
